Rendezvous

Famous coffee shop name, left  hand side of the right side, side of the building near another restaurant. Brick. Cast Iron. Italian lighting, dimly light.  A simple haze of steam covering the inside of the windows, condensation, hearts, exes and o's. You sitting close to the furthest corner of said room and I walked in the front door. Wide brim black hat covering most of my face. Chucks, no socks. High waist skirt, no panties. Thin spaghetti strap T-shirt, no bra...backpack on the shoulder. I asked for a latte and laughed at the barista, you leaned forward in your chair. Cash exchange, gratitude now find a place to sit. Looking over the room, there was only a few places to sit. One, happened to be right by you, I took up residence. You looked up. I didn't. Placing the earbuds on my ears I vaguely heard, "May I help you"? Ignored the magical voice that could have been in my buds and began to drink my latte. You, tapped the table to get my attention, I sharply look upwards. "May I help you"? Came the question again but more with a smile and curiosity. "No", simply I replied; blushing.

"Are you looking for someone"?
"No. Are you"?
"No".
"Is it okay if I sit here"?
"Ummm....sure"?
"Either its okay or its not okay"?
"Huh"?
"You asked in the form of a question. I am merely asking for clarity".
"Oh! Yeah, that was a statement. Have we me..."
"Cliches? I haven't had my coffee yet and were already onto cliches".

Spoke to you from the brim of my hat, not revealing my whole face. You bent to get a better look, I went back to my music and coffee. You sat back in your chair confused by my lack of semi-intest. The buzz in the room continued its organized chaos whilst we danced around polite getting to know you's and flirtations. I get up to order another drink bending slightly over the counter, you sneaked a peak at my short skirt....you got more than a peak. You stood up, walked over behind me, and smelled my neck. Your hand silently draw up my thigh on the inside of my skirt flittering over my cheek, I didn't move. Your lips grazed the nape of my neck pimpling the skin under them. Your chest connected with my back hard pressing me into the counter where my second coffee was presented with a dirty smile and chuckle. "May I help you"?
Placing the cup of coffee onto the counter, smiling to myself, I turned to catch your kiss. Meaningful. Direct. Definite. Passioned. I felt your hand go up the front of my skirt touching my lips. Uncontrollable gasp escaped our kiss. My eyes caught your eyes. Our kiss ceased. My legs wet. The counter peoples jaw dropped into their breakfast. "Would you like to talk about this outside", I managed to muster through drunken bliss off your invitation. "Nope. Just wanted to get some more coffee myself, happened to bump into you". We stood there locked eye to eye for what seemed too long for comfort. Turning around to grab my beverage, your finger go inside me. *Gasp* Blushing, I finish my drink. Turned on a heel. Walked out of the coffee shop. I walked down the street, crossed the river, caught a bus and went home. The streets were wet with rain from a half hour ago. Galoshes. Heavy jackets. Longjohns. Layers. Gridlock and road rage was the safe passage I bought home. The city wasn't on fire but the energy pulsed at a high rate. People talking animated gestures. Cell phones interrupting conversations needed to be had. Smog. My way home is one of gifted pathways into the lives of many. My building was quiet. The dirt from yesterdays move, a new neighbor, lingered. Elevator, 3rd floor. I get the key into place to a stop motion, feeling somethings not right,  I entered the doorway. You rushed me from behind, I drop all things in my hands. I began to let out a gasp, you held my mouth with your thick hands. My front door framing a moment stolen, a gesture accepted while inhibitions wind driven. Door closes.
